Otie Smith

Otie Smith, one of drag racings pioneers, who won the 1959 Nationals at Detroit has passed away. Otie turned 94 years old on May 22. May you rest in peace Mr. Smith and we all thank you for your contributions to the sport.

Thanks, Andamo. As a Cleveland/Akron area native, I grew up with "Otie's Automotive" commercials on the radio. He was always a part of the great Northeast Ohio (and national) drag racing scene. Farewell, Otie. bp
