:( well good news then bad... first the good news.. we won our first 2 rounds in street et moving into 2nd place in the points then also in round 2 i saw the points leader lose his match putting us only 3 rounds from the top of the standings :D we also won round 1 of pro et going 3-0 untill the bad news  the WEATHER TURNED WICKED BAD WITH LIGHTENING,HIGH WIND HEAVY RAIN AND SOME HAIL IN THE AREA!! more bad news is the way i understand it is the event does not count for anything untill 2 rounds are completed in all classes which did not happen.WE had everthing loaded this time and put away before the first drop of rain so we didn't have to chases stuff blowing around and getting soaked or hit by lightening.A good call by Don for sure!!! It was a white knuckle drive home in the John the Plumber van on I-70 as the storm stayed right on top of me all the way to my driveway and 30 mph was all you could do on the highway as sheets of rain were trying to rip the windshield wipers off the heap and the wind gusts felt like it was goung to toss me into the mighty Mississippi as we crept over the bridge and some of you know what my feeling are about bridges on a clear day  .the only other good news is the car ran good with a total of 7 passes including the 2 each time trials and the 3 round wins. in the heat of the day it ran between 12.87 -12.93 with 4 60fts of 1.71. it pick up in first round due to the changing weather and we got a win on Don's driving and relized it would have run a low 80 so we dialed down for round 1 of pro et and Don again out drove his opponent and the incrementals showed it was quicker still and gave us good info for round 2 of street et and we proceeded to take out a top 10 car that round :D The light pro mod field put on a decent show in qualifying and first round with a 4.18 being the low et i believe... there was a scary incident under the tower as a crew member had forgotton to install the cap on the front mounted fuel cell on a nitrous car and when he fired the car i suppose some fuel vapoer lit off and the whole front clip of the car imediatly was engulfed in orange flames with the car still running, very crowded under the tower with all the cars and people, pit vehicles, bottles of starting gas sitting around and a frantic situation as everyone grabbed a fire extinguisher and doused the fire while someone helped get the driver out of the car.. he was not happy when after the front clip was removed and no cap on the fuel cell !!! I was standing next to the car in the left lane under the tower when this happened and watched the track starting line crew get in there quick and do there job well with no fear and no protection of their own as the safety trucks were down track in their usual posistion and this happened under the tower behind the waterbox area. The car suffered minor damage from what i could tell other than an engine full of fire be-gone .another tid bit of good news is the fact the draglist.com sticker on the van stayed on in the storm all the way home and i see out the window it looks fine. 8)

Y'all are doing it right and going rounds, getting points and not breaking...it's an excellent example of drag racing a budgeted team in a series that is probably more challenging to sort out and win in than if it were a lot less rule-conscious. Hope that makes sense. What I'm tryin' to say is you guys ROCK! Bravo! Also glad to hear you got through the storm and back home in one piece, not to mention that the points held up once the meet got shut down! Sorry to hear about the starting line mishap with the Pro Mod...stuff happens, don't it...Go Gator Gumbo/John The Plumber! Cheers, WC1
