Well, here's my recount of the Draglist Nats, Leon has his, and I have mine!

We have never agreed before, so now should'nt be much different!!

We left home about 11pm picked up Larry at his house at about 1am, drove straight thru to Randy's to pick up the car and use his welder to shorten the stand for the rear of the dragster. Thanks Randy for the use of the welder bud!! Got there about 9;30am friday. We pulled in and we were messing with the trailer when a guy walks up with hair like mine!! It's MIKE!! After exchanging handshakes and hello's, had'nt met Margie yet, we all went into Randy's garage and I snuck a peek under the car cover at Rapid's fabulous Corvette!! OOOOH, Nice!! I jokingly told him if the neighbors are p$%##@ at him when he gets home, and there are black marks out front of his house, well, I drove the vette!!

I think he jokingly said, go ahead! but I value my life more than that, man, I wish he was'nt joking!! Anyway, we decided to go on to the Motel in Osky and clean up, while Mike and Margie waited for little Mike and Cat to show up. We arrived at the comfort inn and, there was a white Caddy sitting in the parking lot when we pulled in! I told everyone, look! it's Barb!! Sure enuff it was hers!

She came out and greeted us and the hugs began!! It was like long lost family just found each other again!!

We talked for awhile outside, then we checked in and unloaded our stuff into the rooms and talked some more, we cleaned up and headed for the track. I must echo Randy, the track is wonderful, and the Eddyville Raceway staff and owner treated us like royalty!! We decided to unload the car and change the oil and put different nozzles in, I'll let Leon tell all the tune up stuff, we put up our shade and decided to fire the car. Then Mike and family showed up! All the handshakes began again and finally met Cat and Little Mike and Margie!! Wow! After the talking and stuff, I climbed into the car and I neglected to think about the awning overhang on the end! MISTAKE 1, I did'nt put my mask on!! Mistake 2, no wet rag to chew on! We fired the car and all the nitro shot right up under the awning. That would have been fine, but it could'nt get out the end of the flap overhang!!! I looked up and everyone was no longer under the awning but Leon! My eyes started to burn a little, then, WHAM, it hit me, it was raining NITRO on ME! If you've ever been in a room full of tear gas and can't get out, ..well,

Larry ran over and handed me a paper towel for my face. IT WAS A DRY TOWEL! Nope, ain't gonna work. I give Leon the signal to kill it, cause I can't see and I can't breathe either and it's getting WORSE! He just fattens it up some more!! I gave him the universal sign that means, I'm dying here, please finish up, it's time to go nite nite now! Does he kill it? NO. He grabs a handful of barrel and whacks the throttle!! I can't do this for one more second then suddenly he pulls the fuel shut off! No one, I repeat No one not even John Force could have stood the fumes! I jump out of the car and go outside the canopy and grab a breath. Leon is still fiddling with the car!

No one is left in the area! part one.

If you think it's exciting now, wait till we start it.
