In my opinion, the greatest rock 'n roll entertainer who ever lived...not to mention his band, the Blue Caps...the wildest, most intense, souped-up rock 'n roll band ever...he died young but he left a legacy that was unmatched in scope outside of Elvis. His music was a complete summation of the rock 'n roll loner ethos: Girls, cars, racing, lonely highways, guitars, raising hell, nothing and nobody was safe when Gene Vincent and his Blue Caps invaded a town. His career and his life certainly did not start and end with "Be Bop A-Lula", but it did hit a commercial peak. I have all his albums and I could hear immediately, that guy caught a spark and ran with it. His influence on me since I discovered his awesome recordings is indescribable...Check him out if you haven't already. RIP, Gene, you are not forgotten. WC1
