yep - we're figuring on being in Columbus, and Thompson, and Indy, and Bowling Green and...

I got it pulled clear down this weekend. All that's left to do is pull the girdle studs and pan studs out of my wife's new aluminum planter.

The block is pretty well toasted. It cracked the front 4 main webs (that's right folks - there are only 5) on the left side clear through to the sleeves. The front 2 sleeves fell out of it. The crack on the side of number 3 goes all the way up to the deck and split the block open around the sleeve. There is a crack running up the front of the block toward the deck. Basically the whole left side of the block tried to come off.

The crank looks great everywhere except for the #3 rod journal - that looks like someone took a cutting torch to it. Kind of amazing how everything in the engine looks good except that one bearing. Even #4 bearing on the same journal looks good. I don't know whether they can repair the crank or not - the rest of it looks great - unless it's cracked.

The cam was spared, and 8 of the pistons are ok. I've got 2 spare pistons so I'm covered there. A new sleeve (of course I don't have any spare sleeves...), repair the crank, a new set of rods, and a block and we'll be good to go. Not too painful...

Looking forward to it Wheelz - maybe we'll have our new mascot with us too - not sure whether the boss wants to put up with her in the motorhome for 3 days....
