What's on the Jukebox?

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

I just found 6 songs I left off of Sound and Fury...2 of them are essential...I'll see about fixing up a PS for it...Cheers, WC1

Boston is great...they are the American Dream personified...quit their jobs only after the album went triple-platinum...Tom Scholz is amazing...

This week...

Billy, Nancy and Doc, an update to Volume 1 is also coming this week...

I have a gig tonight with Pee Wee Bowen in Kemah, I'm the guitar player tonight. Should be fun...I will use a '69 Les Paul gold-top (refinished, with the "soap-bar" pickups. I'm holding it on the cover of "Four Lifetimes"), a Fender Twin Reverb amp (85 watts, with Peavey Scorpion speakers), and a Boss Blues Driver stomp box (I tried it out with the Citykings Thursday night and it is great). I just hope the thin callouses on my fingertips hold up to the 4 sets. I am also somewhat unfamiliar with the more obscure Otis Redding material that Pee Wee does, so I'm going to hang back a lot on that stuff until I'm absolutely certain of what to play...it's the most challenging gig I've gotten in a long time...the keyboard gigs have been easy compared to this. I'm stepping into a slot that has been reserved for the best of the best throughout the history of Pee Wee's band. Bert Wills, Jimmy Fulton, Dale Gautier, Gene Kelton and Cliff Faldowski have all held down that slot, and they are all regarded as the finest musicians in this region. When Pee Wee called and offered ME this gig, I liked to fainted, but I collected myself and said ah-hyuck, sure! I know their stuff, but I am still going to be very careful tonight. Pee Wee likes to keep it simple, but varied...he goes from one style to another at the drop of a hat, and we have to watch him every second or he's beyond where we're at...I am honored to do this, and I'll be paid quite well tonight. I'll check in when I get home after the gig (it'll be from 7-11 in Kemah) and I'll review myself. Y'all send positive thoughts. This is a major step into the honest-to-goodness big leagues in this town for the Cat. I'm actually getting a little nervous about it. Haven't had that happen since we played Rockefeller's back in '93. Cheers, WC1

I found out after I got there that the gig started at 8, not 7...it went great, but I'm nodding off and I am going to go upstairs and curl up in my basket. I will catch up with the world tomorrow. I think I need to put this in the Night Shift...I just realized that this is in "What's On The Jukebox?" Duh! WC1
Jukebox: "Oh Well"...Fleetwood Mac followed by "Gone Gone Gone" by Bad Company...'night all...
