The Night Shift

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

Thanks, Doc! I just couldn't see kicking off those 4 CDs with FTW...Cryin' In My Beer somehow inadvertedly got left off, along with Hangin' On A Neon Light (long story on that song) and One-Way Explosion...but with them added, the whole thing is complete. Cryin' In My Beer was completely done on my synthesizer except for the vocals. It was a challenge I wanted to take on and it was fun coming up with guitar parts and pedal steel and bass, drums, etc., multitracked onto a Tascam Studio 8..I wish I still had that keyboard...it finally gave out on me at a Shakedown gig in 2004. I had been using it as my main instrument, and I beat the heck outta those things. The touch sensitivity went out on it and that was the end of that. I wrote a lot of music on that thing. I guess my next big acquisition will be to acquire a digital multitracker and start making new music. I have a bunch of stuff I haven't gotten around to recording, all more or less like this collection. I want to make a Blues album, too, one of these days. Glad you're enjoying Sound and Fury! Cheers, WC1

Coffee, I'll send ya my music one of these days if you can PM or email me your mailing address...Doors cool. GREAT band. Big influence on me...when I came in here today I was going to just chat about the latest, but last night after Debby set up the floral arrangement she made out of the dozen long-stem roses I sent to her yesterday afternoon (home run, dudes) she approached me with this picture. It's her and her sister Cindy with a department store Santa in St. Louis, December 1961. She was 5 and Cindy was 3. Candy and Lisa hadn't been born yet. I have two major points to mention about this picture before I start work on it. First, I was stopped dead in my tracks by this picture of Debby. The look in her eyes and on her face. I just can't get over it. If y'all knew Debby like I do, this picture of her is an open window to her soul. I am completely transfixed emotionally by it. Also, this is going to be the most daunting photo restoration project I have ever been faced with. I will have to be very careful with it. After scanning it, I converted it to Quadtone in one version and RGB in another. It is a strange and intriguing and extremely complicated picture and it is heavily damaged. It's not beyond repair at all, but I'm going to visit RetouchPro.com tonight and browse their stuff...they are the best there is at this and I am going to make sure that I make this picture as good as the instant it was taken. Relax, take a deep breath, and behold the spirit of my wife when she was a very young child. Cheers, WC1

Thanks...I'll post it when it's finished. It's going to take time and patience to restore and partially reconstruct this moment in Debby's life. Yes, good call, BP...she's there in those eyes. So is Kyle. And Nick. Big Time. WC1
