This Day In History

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

The once and forever KING. 8)
Image
I saw the picture today of him and President Nixon shaking hands in the Oval Office. The president and the king. I think only Elvis could drive up to the White House and walk in and hang out with the President for a while, pick up a Narcotics badge, and then split. That was during a period of a just few days in his life when nobody knew where he was...go, cat, go! Cheers, WC1

:( I have been thinking back and i know my dad was a big fan of Elvis for years and years and we all grew up hearing his music in the house but strangly Mom never seemed to want to hear any of it or watch any of the stuff on tv or any of the tribute style vhs tapes of him later after his death. I guess it stems from the hotrodder/greaser days when all the guys she knew were broke, beer drinking wannabees... and she was allways hungry and pregnant.... jeeez... just thought i'd throw that out there......
