The Night Shift

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

I'm looking at a tough day today. We're going to have to clear out the back warehouse that has been built onto a house in Willowbend (Be Like Bob's Mom's house) that is stacked to the ceiling with stuff...60% chance of rain today and tomorrow...I have an allergy cold, and Bob's Mom is going to micro-manage every single item that gets moved...and each one has a long, detailed history that she has to explain...the objective is to apply sheetrock to the ceilings and walls in there but not float or tape it, because she's going to have the foundation levelled...in order to get to the ceiling and walls we have to remove the junk...we have to build a temporary storage facility in the back yard to hold the stuff until the foundation gets done then we have to move it back in after the sheetrocking gets finished and painted...we need to lock her in the house so she'll stay off of us and let us do the job...Randolph is concerned about being able to do it because every single rusted-through nail we picked up and looked at, she told us not to move...but please, hurry up and do the whole place with all 5 million single pieces of broken glass and string and empty paint cans and so forth..."eccentric" is not the word I could use here for her. She's a very nice lady with 50 tons of junk that she's collected that has to be moved out of the way for the job to get done, she hired us to do it, and she can't allow her stuff to get thrown out. The truckloads of rotten wood has a future; some day she's going to build a hut out of it or repair the back gate or something...and the wood is falling apart in our hands...the metal chairs with the legs rusted off 10 inches high can be repaired some day and re-used as planters, etc...should be interesting. Rand hired Kyle to come in with me, but his asthma is bad right now and he might have to sit this project out...Cheers, WC1

this might bee a job to pass on WC1... we had a lady in our neighborhood who was a hoarder like that... trash floor to ceiling.. even her car was always packed to the dome light... the cops would pull her over all the time cause she couldn't see out of it !!! It's a medical condition (mental).I'd pass i think on this deal :?:

Those kind of people drive me right up a wall, unless the history lesson is worth listening to. Otherwise, it may be time to borrow the duct tape from Lippy and use it to keep the chatter to a mumble.

I agree...but if she wants to pay us $600 a day to stand there and hold a bag full of broken jelly bottles so she can tell us what she plans to do with them, well, $600 a day is $600 a day...this has been going on for decades, since the 1950s, according to Be Like Bob, and now that it all has to be moved, she is coming unglued...at least it's good to know that she's not the only pack-rat in da woild...Here goes...update later! Cheers, WC1

Good thing for you guys her name wasn't Mrs. O'leary, cows just seem to tip over too easy, then you have to pick them up, it's just a mess.
