I'm just remembering something.When I bought the car it had a 3 point cage.The handle was staight and forward of the cage.The 6 point cage came sooo far forward that the handle was close to the front loop.So I angled the top.This really worked in my favor when doing the blindfold test for my licence.Rapid,with the lay down chassis you'll need a wedge neck collar.

I can see how you would. I were the R3 the gang here got me. It is just fine in the car. I took all my gear, helmet everything when we went to look at the car. I needed to make sure I fit before we bought it.

very important !! I hope Slick Vic fits his new car correctly !! I was pretty loose in my old heap at the time being only 5ft-9 at 175lbs..

I've had both the push and pull brakes in my car. I think i can put more pressure on by pulling the brake. Other than that it's pretty much a toss up for me.
I also have the fire bottle lever on my hand brake and with a push lever you can reach around and activate the fire bottles while still applying the brakes. I know a lot of cars have their fuel shut off on there instead.
These items are all pretty much driver preference.

On Larry's dragster we have a pull brake, chute release mounted on the lever, one motion the chute is released and hand is on the brake.

I used to have the chute lever mounted on the roof but I think I'll put this one on the tinwork just to the right of the brake. Push the chute lever and swing my hand to the left a few inches and grab the brake.
I usually have my hand near the chute lever at about 1000' and push it at the first stripe, then ease into the brake.

It is pretty interesting making this new car ours. In the 23T I pretty much drove it like it was. Every winter we would do some stuff, but basically it was left pretty much alone.

This car we are locating things how I want them and where it feels good. We will do even more of that on the new chassis we are going to build next. You kind of start off with the mind set, well it should be here because it always was,,,then when you consider it some more, you see it can go some place better.

I have the fire bottles down on the left side, and the brake and fuel shut off on the brake handle, and the parachutes on the tin work just to the right of the brake lever like Rocky is going to put his. We aren't going to mount the air release for the chutes until we get the new chassis built. I am going back to manually releasing these chutes. They still will be air launched, just not air activated.

There is a lot of things to personalize in one of these beasts!
