Vic, I can tell you from experience, it "may" take SEVERAL different configurations with variations of the same thing before you are satisfied with the result...(brace yourself, Cat  LOL ).......I drew up a couple of master copies of my car and made a $#1+ load of copies to try different schemes........I probably have a dozen of 'em with "basically" the same design, but with subtle changes here and there............what I ended up with is dangerously similar to my avatar scheme, only the colors are re-arranged.......I hope this helps

I am going to post some thoughts here. Ignore them, or use some or all, whatever you want. WC, I don't want to over-step myself, I just offering some thoughts of my own. Your work is fantastic, so PLEASE take this in the spirit it is intended.

The head on shot is a great baseline to work from, and the blue base is a dynamite sheet of paper to start with. I like the magenta in the center of the fog design. However the car is boxy enough in the front. You need to pull it together and narrow the LOOK of the car. I would bring the stripes to a sharp point at the nose, then swoop in a semi-circle to add some width. The center should be a panel about as wide as 1/2 the injector right out of the middle, the 2nd stripe should go to the outside of the blower, and the 3rd stripe color, same width as stripe #2 surrounds the first two. All of this creating an approx 12-20" total width graphic which goes from the front nose, over the roof to the rear spoiler. Then the pin-striper comes in and separates the colors with his freehand striping. Something like, Yellow, Green, and Pink. I know you are thinking those colors don't work, but you want a good contrast with colors that show against the painted ones. It doesn't have to be those colors, but go out of your comfort zone and let the pin-striper do his magic.

The side is perfect, if you just remove the yellow stripe down the side. Let the lettering and magenta stripes, and headers carry the side.

These are just my thoughts, as I said. If we all liked the same things it would not be much fun in this world. With WC on the mission, whatever you guys finally settle on will be perfect, I am sure of it.

It's all good, and thanks for the input, guys. I'll get back on this later today...sometimes I think I'm going backwards on it, but sideways is actually what's happening as shown in the picture....<g>...anyway, it'll get worked out, just have to see what works best...it should be finalized soon, Vic needs to get this thing out there and start racing! Cheers, WC1

WC. Just for idea fodder, when I did that Vega back in the day I striped the hood but broke up the stripes with panels. Didn't stripe the top, but carried the same theme to the trunk lid. Endless possibilities

Do you guys know where the name "Quarter Bender" came from? I always thought it was just another take on the "quarter mile" thing... but Cambra's Quarter Bender moniker originated in a literal sense. It has been said that the man could take a quarter and bend it in two between his thumb and index finger. It was a sane practice to stay on the good side of Big Jack! bp

That is cool, BP! I sure didn't know that! But is this car the Quarter Bender, or is it the Bottle Rocket? Awaiting news from Hawaii! Cheers, WC1
