This letter is from another board and I asked the person if they wanted me to post it here too. Any help would be appreciated.
Dan
Ok, here is the story. In the mid '60s, an older buddy of mine (Ron Rapp) built a '41 Willys with a Pontiac mill to race at Quaker City Dragway in Salem, Oh and other local tracks. The car was build from bits and pieces VERY low buck style and he ran it in B/A as I recall. After he sold the car in the very late '60s, somehow it ended up in England, was painted green and was ultimately totalled.
Ron will be turning 70 soon and has no pics of her. Like a lot of us low bucker racers, photo stand money was better spent on the racer. For a birthday present, I'd love to present him with a framed photo of his Willys if I can find one. This Willys has 3 identifying traits that I can name. It's name was "No Brag..Just Fact", it had a steel tilt front end and was black with silver fogged wheelwells. I know that's not much to go on, but I didn't know him back in the day and just vaguely remember the car.
If anyone from the Youngstown/Akron/Cleveland Oh area remembers Ron's Willys can even point me in some starting direction, I'd be very grateful. Even a story from someone with memories of the Willys would be fantastic!
Thanks so much,
Jan
