Last night’s Practice Tree Nationals was a blast! Entered two events and did pretty good for an old guy. Got runner up in the $5 top bulb event and in the $10 top bulb event I had a bye into the semis where I lost with a .532 light against an almost perfect .501. I won enough $$$ to pay for my entry fees, all the beer I had and enough left over for a pizza and some snacks for today’s Daytona 500. Needless to say I’ll be pushing to have this event on a regular schedule for the rest of the winter.

That Camaro is cool!!!!
Put a black vinyl top and a set of Hilborn injectors on it and it would look like the one I had many, many years ago!!
I always did like the style of those cars.

From the Maritime Drag Racers Message Board:
CFSC "Outlaw Drag Race Shootout" Heads East With National Event

Image
"It was time for the CFSC Shootout to do what the name implies... go National, spread it's wings and leave the confines of Ontario. Explains CFSC's Raymond Knight. "We've always had racers come from as far away as Florida in the USA and the East Coast in Canada, but as an event we needed to grow. We seriously researched dozens of venues, and in the end this area stood out as #1. Our goal has always been to bring not only a unique fast-paced, high-energy form of racing to a particular area, but to also raise awareness of Outlaw, Street Legal and Drag Racing in general within that area; making the racers of the CFSC the stars of the show."

Pro Modified Outlaw, Top-Gun Shootout and Real Street Outlaw will be just a few of the wild heads-up classes on display, as well as some insane Outlaw Match-Races, and proposed Top Sportsman, Cool Street Index and Atlantic Bracket National programs to go along with it. Of course, as we travel East, we will also bring along our popular "Test and Tune with the Stars" Friday Night, as well as Saturday Free Racer BBQ, Free concert and much more.

The exciting new venue will be Miramichi Dragway Park, New Brunswick which boasts a unique 30 acre country location just a short drive from the sprawling ocean coastlines. Make no mistake though, MDP is a full quarter-mile facility with over 2,200 feet of shutdown, is well known to the many racers of the east coast, and about to be recognized worldwide for what they have to offer the sport of drag racing... "a family oriented facility with a surface that is up there with the best of them". "The cars hook here and stay hooked." Says Terry McGraw, owner and front-man for MDP. "Many of the "faster" cars visit us and go away with record times and only good things to say about the facility. We have some of the best air for drag racing here and we know how to treat our guests. Having the CFSC come to town with their Outlaw Drag Race Shootout is a huge bonus for the entire area. Rest assured we will do everything in our power to make this the show of shows."

"We really need to thank the folks from Boo King racing for starting us on this path." Knight goes on to say. "Being the CFSC Real Street Outlaw reigning Champions, they have been instrumental in getting the ball rolling here. The part that really took us by surprise though was the incredible excitement and willingness to help that was generated in everyone that we have contacted in Eastern Canada with regards to the CFSC show coming to town."

With the CFSC Shootout, in it's fifth year, gaining a reputation as a "HOLIDAY Hot Spot" for the racer and enthusiast, this 2008 event will truly be a "Holiday Weekend" event for all involved being held August 1st-3rd, 2008. We invite everyone, from all areas of the globe, to come join us in the East as we get back to the roots of where this area of the sport began.

If you have never been to Eastern Canada, you need to be at the 2008 CFSC Outlaw Drag Race Shootout! The people are friendly, the racing is intense, the ocean landscape is breathtaking and the seafood is some of the best the world has to offer!

Watch for more regarding the 2008 CFSC Outlaw Drag Race Shootout over the coming months... make your plans now for 2008, make it your best action-packed holiday ever. You won't want to miss this one!
