Sorry I am late in updating the thread..........
Got the engine started last weekend the engine sounded sorta ok but something was wrong. Re-leaked the barrel valve that was right started it again but something still wasn't right. Found cracks in the hat causing vacuum leaks in the hat, bear in mind this is a fibreglass hat, fixed the leaks started the car again & it sounded a ton better. Re-set the butterfly clearance, richend the barrel about a flat, & sounded like it was ready to rock!!!
Shut the car off to cool down, tried to start the car again after 2 hours & the blower seized up. That fricken sucked!!!!!!
Took the blower apart & found out this wasn't the first time the damn thing has seized up.
Today we machined the rotors & end plates to make them flat again, well the best we could without taking to much metal off.
Hope to have the blower back together Sunday, the car started by Wednesday & take the car out Saturday to get the driver license upgraded.
Is this what they meant by getting there is half the fun??????????????

Sorry I haven't updated in a while.
I re-named the thread to reflect the sponsor & the owner.

After we took everything apart on the injector Steve found some of the fibreglass layers were de-laminating. Also found cracks in the base on the injector. To fix the injector it was decided to cut the base off of it & fix it the right way. Also going to raise the injector a couple of inches.
Steve should have the injector finished this weekend.
The blower is back together at least almost anyway. Gotta check & set the timing on the rotors.
I'm sure some of you have more experience on timing the rotors than I do so if you could offer any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Thanks for reading

PS: Your right Lippy going to have to get up close & personal with this deal.

Sorry for not keeping everyone updated. Been a long winter.

Steve & I finally got time to work on the car today. Steve spent the day working on an OOPS on the trailer (don't ask) and I spent the day checking over everything, check this, check that, you get the picture. I re-leaked the barrel valve, the reading was off by 10%, hmm.. thats not right, check everything again, still the same reading. OK so now I'm thinking what did you forget how to do now!!!! :x

So I picked up the gauge & the reading changed  WTF?
Long story short the quick coupler had a leak in it throwing the gauge off 10% :x

Well we didn't get to start the car today, :( but we did find other issues.
Remember I know clutches & Lenco's, not converters & Lenco's.

Steve & I got to talking about how he was going to do the burnout, bring the car to a stop, engage & hold the trans brake, shift the trans into reverse while pushing on the brake handle & using the left hand to multi task. Hmm.. slight problem here
So far the only solutions to this problem we have come up with, is to install a foot activated trans brake for shifting between forward & reverse, reverse & forward or installing a foot brake.

Any other ideas????

Sorry Bob, I just saw your post here.

If you are saying you have a Lencodrive, make sure your driver reads the paperwork.

You have to stop the car, then push the button for the trans-brake, RELEASE the brakes to take the load of the driveshaft/reverser and shift it into forward, or reverse whichever way you are going. Then hold the brake, release the trans-brake button and release the brakes to move.

Sometimes, the reverser won't let you shift it, and you have to bump the trans-brake a couple of times before it will shift. Tell him NOT to force it, it will go when everything is right with no load against it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Rapid. We didn't get an instruction manual for the used Bruno drive, bought it used, but I guarantee one will be faxed or shipped on Monday.
Now I understand about letting go of the brake handle/pedal to shift the trans into forward or reverse. My first concern was depending on the trans brake (electric over air) style to keep the car stopped while the driver had to multi task to preform several functions.

To quote our buddy Al and you over at CFC
Bob (I don't need no instruction manual) in Ohio

Well today's the day. 8)
We are taking the car to the track to put some laps on it and see if we can't get Steve's license upgraded.
Jeezz it's been a while since I've been to the track and had to tune & work on a blown motor.
I hope I haven't forgotten to much  :?
