The Night Shift

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

Thanks, guys. It's been a wonderful time. Something happened the other night that really touched me very deeply. I've mentioned that Pee Wee is a member of a hot rod club from Alvin (Home of Nolan Ryan...he's a local TV celebrity around here, doing foundation repair commercials). They show up at all of our club gigs that they can park outside and keep an eye on their cars. They are fabulous hot rods that they built themselves...a '37 Chevy, a '49 Merc, a '47 top-over flat-bed truck that carries a flathead roadster, a '29 Model A rod (139mph in the quarter on pump gas), a '56 Chevy truck, Pee Wee's '56 Chevy Belair, and a few that show up occasionally, notably the '40 Ford sedan. The guy with the '37 Chevy came up to me when I was packing up my stuff and getting ready to go. He said "I want you to know, we're glad it was YOU that got chosen, John. When Pee Wee chose you over those other guys, we were all very happy about that. We all think you add something to this band that it needed." I was stopped dead in my tracks by that, and I shook his hand and I said "Thank you, man. Thank you very much. That means a lot." I plan to apply a DragList sticker to my Les Paul soon. Cheers, WC1

No need for a PM, Doc.
My number is (281) 879-8217. Bill's number is (281) 615-3536. The reason I'm giving you Bill's number is because it might be that one or both of the songs that John picked could be Bill's songs. Each of us copyrighted our songs before we copyrighted the whole CD to WSRJ Music and joined ASCAP. It's all fine with me, whatever John wants to use, but if it's Bill's material, like I say, he'll need to talk with Bill about it...great that he thought of us in case the ones he had picked out don't end up in the film. Did he say which songs? Thanks...WC1
