Jim- That would be great!!!

So... As you know... I blew the engine. My dad made 4 passes Friday to get some of his licence passes over and done with. His best was a 8.58, which isn't bad for the old man. So it seemed as though the car was race ready Saturday. The PSCA race was completely, and untterly, a mess! None of the lane guys knew what they were doing, and it was a complete joke. We almost missed our first time only due to the fact that we could not hear them call my class, so we went up there anyways. And being that it was my first time in the car in almost a year, I wanted to go against one of my team members, instead of some random street car that can get squirrley. ((There are usually many crashes at this type of race.)) Anyhow, I made my first pass, in LOW GEAR!! The car didn't shift and went 9.40 at 125MPH. Not a purdy site to realize at the finish line the car didn't shift... BUT! she was fine, so we thought. I made 2 more passes that day... but I COULD NOT, for the life of me, get the .500 tree down!! My lights were bright red all 3 passes. -1.95, -.61, -75. My second pass, I went 8.87 at 146. She was totally fat and should have been re-jetted. My third pass was a 8.77, still fat. Saturday night, we broke out the beer, tequilla, and Ancient Age whiskey, along with the practice tree. I was determined to go green Sunday! I sat there for 2 hours or so just playing the tree game.

Sunday comes around... As I was off at the driver's meeting, my dad decided to put .99 in the delay. I caught a .504 light ((finally green)) and I was on a good pass... untill about the 1,000 ft mark. She shook terribly and make a rattling noise. As soon as I felt the shake, I turned the car off and pulled to the rail on the track. The rods are back in the pan... but none of the holes are wet... so we're thinking that just the rods and crankshaft need some T.L.C. and repair. The crew and I decided to take this week off from the dragster to just catch up with family life ((I feel completely lost and bored not being at the shop 24/7)).

I'm thinking the name for my dragster that is getting build right now for me is going to be named... HARD LUCK, or something along those lines.

Here are some pictures from the engine assembly a few weeks back...

And since I couldn't make first round in my dragster... The crew decided to have me race my truck... We dialed her in at 19.11 ((We just grabbed a numer outta the sky)) and I broke out going 18.95 with a top speed of 73 MPH. After buying back into the race after first round, we dialed her at 18.96 and she went 19.05, picking up 2 MPH's LOL I never thought I would ever be racing my truck... but I guess that's the racer in me. Anything to make first round. I told my dad and his boss... If I start going rounds, I'll have to run to the nearest gas station and get some gas LOL. I'll never live this one down...

As for the pictures of the dragster... I'm having a total blonde moment and not able to get the pictures taken by the photographer scanned into my computer.
