Off to Sikeston (MO) Drag Strip with the Grand Marquis and, thirteen rounds later, Mr. Dirt now has at least one event win for the seventeenth consecutive year. Unfortunately, I blew my chance at a "double" when my new Goodyear GTIIs spun just enough in my second final off the night.
I needed no buybacks and only got one bye in two divisions. RT average for the night was 0.021. I had two 0.003 TWs and one 0.007. Best bulb was an 0.015 (set up for an 0.018); that came against an 0.016 and was one of the 0.003 TWs.
That was win number 91, the runner-up made 123 finals and the car, originally a $3K hail-damaged special, has now made over $7300 in three years.
I'm off to a $2K FB race at Benton, IL, on Sunday.
The win was dedicated to the late, great Steve Taylor, the Greatest Drag Racer (to date) of All Time.
