well to start off the report from Gateway let me say COLD!!!!!! windy and did i mention Cold !! I dressed for it but with the wind i was hatin' it but it is opening day for points so had to be there...at 2:00 for first time trial it ran 12.59 at only 103 thru the wind... it's quickest pass ever, but 2 mph slower.. on a normal day ist lap is quickest then slows a couple hundreths on the next bunch of laps.over the next 3 time runs it got quicker each lap with 12.51 on the last time run (still at only 103 and change) !!! it's best ever before yesterday was a 12.66 last week..I don't have any notes with me as Don's son was putting all the numbers in a log book for this year and my fingers were to cold to write anything down i will say we weren't the only car making career bests.. a lot of double breakouts in eliminations in all classes as the evening turned to night.we lost on a breakout in 2nd round of pro/et against the track champ but got to the 3rd round in street and again on a close breakout.. jeeez the last run was a 12.49 !!!!!! there was a lot of breakage of good cars last nite and a lot of down time for track cleanup.. so considering grabbing points for showing up and some round wins and after 9 laps it once again was loaded under it's own power with nary a drip or complaint so we feel good about it.on a side note Bret was there all day and night taking pictures wearing shorts !!!after the sun went down he did come out with BIG PANTS ON ! I will go to the tech question section about the only thing we did differently than the last few seasons.Oh yea almost forgot thanks Bill racer 403 for bringing the cool golf cart. it sure saved my bones yesterday from the miles of walking i normally do
