I included the mishap clips along with the good ones, just so everyone can see it's sometimes not as easy as it looks.

If you watch this first clip close enough, you will notice the car doing a little side to side dance.

Click HERE for a not-so-straight pass.

My favorite.

Tough to see in this clip, but it was a repeat of what happened in the very first one.

Click HERE for another not-so-straight pass.

September 8th Race Report

It was a rather disappointing day at the track this weekend. Temperature at the track was a mere 94 degrees, track temperature was 112. The event was the "32nd Annual Jet Cars Under The Stars", and it was to be our first night race. The track opened at 11:am and our call to the lanes was at 12:30. We were all set with our 8 second tune-up all loaded just to make sure the track was at least the same as the last time we ran that number. After a higher than normal RPM burnout I was brought back to the line and got ready for action. After getting brought up to the beams, a track official gave me the "shut it off" sign due to something leaking under the car. We towed it back to the pits for an inspection and found that there was too much oil in the system and it puked some out. Within 15 minutes they were calling us up for our second round of qualifying. With the oil misery taken care of, but not the heat in the engine, we towed back up to the staging lanes for another try. I lowered the burnout RPM just for safe measures and backed up once again. This time I made it all the way up to the point of being up on the brake when I got that dreaded "shut it off" sign once again. This time it was water leaking out of the overflow tank. Grrrrrr. I sat in staging way too long and the engine temperature got too high. Back to the pits once again, and we decided to call it a day and wait till next weekend. Not 15 minutes later the skys opened up and it rained. They did manage to get the Jets to make some passes starting at about 9pm and by 11:00 the show was over. We'll give it another try next Saturday and see if we can make up for this past Saturday's misery.
