LOL..I vaguley recall that car. They often ran jr gas in conjunction w/jr fuelers ( a class competed in by my neighbor) fuel altereds, injected funnies, etc. I have the Drag News CD that makes mention of the car. I will see if they feature a photo of it. Didnt jr gas mimic jr fuelrs, albeit restricted to gas? I think they also occassionally ran senior gas dragsters too, basically the same thing but running BB motors

Well I made an effort to see if there were any pictures of your car within the Drag News CD, but I couldnt find any. There might have been some written commentary about the car competing, but thats a little too laborous for me right now. I must say that scanning the pages brought back a lot of fond memories of an era long since past. The Lions race ads alone are worth the priice of the CD's as they really serve as an example of what racing was like in the Southland from the late sixties to the very early seventies. It appeared that in 69, most of the jr gas meets were comprised of 4 car shows, ditto for the senior gas guys. In 70, the field was increased to 8. No doubt the result of a better car turnout. From the ads cars were classified as being senior gas if 351+ CI or jr gas if powered by motors 350 and under. Lil Pineapple, Gold Rush, Rea and Evans, Landlord were just a few of the advertised names. I remember most of them. To give "young people" an idea of what thye missed, a typical Lions show offered 16 car top fuel, combo eliminator (jr fuelers altereds, blown gas rails, and fuel altereds) AA/GS, jr gas dragsters and inj gas funnies. All for 2 bucks!

Well tell us about your rig. Motor, chassis, times, any funny anecdotes or exploits worth repeating. I am sure you have a ton of memories worth sharing since you competed in a really golden era here in So-Cal

Trust us, boredom wont surface. The whole point of this site to accquire various anecdotes from those who were there to witness what went on back then. Be it as a driver, car/engine builder, owner, gopher, or spectator. Doesnt matter if you ran a jr.e
