A dream came true for me tonight...the Phantom Cruisers were at the gig we played at Lone Star Ballroom in Pasadena. It's me and Debby's anniversary, and she was with me. She wore this beautiful red and black outfit and the 'Cruisers and their wives met her for the first time and she proved herself to be a delightful and charming band wife...Pee Wee's wife, Jerry, pulled me aside and told me how beautiful she looks...during the break after the first set, Mike called me over and he said "John, I want you to take a test. C'mere." I went over to a separate table with him. He says "First question: If you were a member of a car club, would you want to pay dues?" I said "Hell no." He said "What about elect officers?" I said "No, I wouldn't want to have officers." He said "What about having meetings and schedules?" I said "I wouldn't have time to go to meetings, and I already have a pretty damn tight schedule." He whips out a metal plaque and hands it to me and says "Congratulations, John. You passed the test with flying colors. You're now the newest Phantom Cruiser." I liked to fell over backwards. It's an etched plaque with "Phantom Cruisers" on it! Will miracles never cease? It's gonna look great on George. Life is good! WC1
