UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The truck has a fresh tranny in thanks to Joe Pironne transmissions in Philadelphia, great people great service. I still haven't gotten the motor from the machine shop!!!!!!!!!! I called two weeks ago and the owners wife said " I thought you picked that up" I said you never called me. She put me on the phone with her husband and he said what did you need done to it  I told him cam bearings, clean it , hone it. I called last week and they still haven't touched it. I'm going to pick it up this week and take it to another shop.
As some of you know I've been working on my competition license since last June. Through Blow-ups and a lay off it never got finished (I have 1 run to make) Through the darkness came a ray of sunshine. Rocky Pironne is going to let me drive the " Boss Hydro " car this weekend at Cecil to finish my run. I've never driven a car of this caliber, so words can't express my gratitude and appreciation to Rocky for the opportunity he's given me.

More to come Saturday night :D

We met Rocky, Bill and Rocky's son Joe at the track around 9:00, got the car unloaded, and Bill and I took turns around the pits to get the feel of the car. The purpose was to get Bill and I licensed, Bill just starting the process and me making my last run. At 11:47 all my dreams came true as I'm sitting on the line in a blown 33 Willy's!!!!!!!!!!! Rocky warned me several times about the shifting, I shift forward in the Monza, in his I pull back. I'm feeling calm but I know I'm not in my car anymore. I staged and watched the lights come down and on the last yellow I nail it. HOLY sh*t!!!!!!!!!!!! This thing leaves like a rocket, I swear my eyes rolled back in their sockets. I went for second and shifted forward and found neutral :cussing: I immediately got out of it and coasted to a blazing 19.76 @ 59.91 mph. As I was waiting to get picked up I had this sick feeling in my stomach, I knew exactly what I did wrong and felt like a real dumass for doing it. After we got back to the pits we talked about what I did and Rocky reinforced the fact that I need to pull back on the shifter. My 2nd run came at 1:03 and the car and I had a better understanding of each other. As soon as I left The car pulled to the left and I pedaled it and brought it back to a 10.15 @ 135.24 I was disappointed as today was my last day to get it done, or else start over. So back to the pits and get Bill ready to make his runs. Vicki put my jacket in our car because I thought we were finished for the day. After the car was cooled down and refueled Bill say's grab your stuff you're making another run. He said he'd start his next week because I was so close. Talk about a class act !!!!!!!!!! We pulled up for the 3rd and final run and waited while other classes ran, then it was our turn. We got the car fired and I cleaned the tires. Bill guided me into the beams and it was all up to me NOT to make it a wasted day for Rocky and crew. The lights came down and off I went PULLED 2nd and the car pulled a little to the left. I lifted just a tick per Rocky's instructions and hit 3rd and went through the lights. While I'm waiting at the bottom of the track I replayed the run in my mind hoping for the best. Over the hill comes 4 of the best poker faces I ever saw as I'm trying to read their faces. Rocky came over and shook my hand and said I did it. A 9.59 @139.92 I know it was a long day for Rocky and Bill and I can't thank them enough for giving me this opportunity. As a certain Mr. Baker say's "That's what I did this weekend"
