I know that I speak for many folks of the drag racing community when expressing sincere sympathies to Mark Niver's family... Those of us who really know our drag racing are aware that Mark Niver was a respected veteran of the sport-- Mark Niver was not only a talented driver, but he also possessed the skills to build and fabricate racing machinery at the master level... And those of us who really know our drag racing are also aware of just how much talent and skill is necessary to be competitive in the Top Alcohol classes, as I've said many times before, "Ya really gotta DRIVE these cars"... Mark Niver will be missed... Mark was definitely one of the good guys... Diana

Yes, I was amazed that he was only 60. I remember him from the first days of Pro Comp. He was just a young man when he started that. One of the true craftsmen in the sport, he could build any part of the car from SCRATCH, and he did. He stayed with the Donovan motor past the point when many went with the KB and Milodon, and he was often the quickest and fastest in the world of those using that power plant. I was grinning at his early interview during Sunday's broadcast. His love of life and of his sport were shining through. Then a few hours later, he was gone. Hard to fathom. RIP, Mark Niver. bp

I didn't have the internet for a while and this happened while I was out. Just now found out about it. Very sad to learn of Mark's passing. May he rest in peace. WC1
