Dick was a terrific guy. I always loved his race cars and then I had the privilege to get to know him when I worked as an announcer at MIR. As the IHRA jet car inspector, he attended many jet events and Royce Miller put them on a few times a year. It was great getting Dick up into the tower for some color commentary. I have a photo of us around here somewhere. I last saw Dick this past fall when he and his son Terry were racing their jet dragster against Al Hanna's Queen of Hearts entry at MIR. He was still full of live and entertained us with great stories. I had heard that he was doing poorly these past few weeks. I'm glad he is at peace and I'm proud to have known him. Farewell, Dick. bp
