He's Runnin' an MSD 6Plus. He had problems with the stock opti & replaced everything with MSD stuff. It's been very reliable since the upgrade, was nothing but trouble before. It even ran fine this spring after hibernating all winter.

This year he will once again be after my 8.48 time from the 70's. He's been trying for 4 years now (this will be his 5 attempt). I think he's got something for me this year. He's been creeping up on my time slip and has (I think) a best of 8.67 to date. I think I'll print out an updated hood stripe this year as his old one is gettin' a little ratty. That alone should give him the edge.

Not sure about the J.A.M.B. I check whenever i have time but the door is still locked.

no printing stripes on sheets of lead or tungsten now..

It's Saturday 12:12 pm. I have 2 & 1\/2 signs yet to do for Monday morning.

Then I think I'll go MIA for a few hours & work on the "Z". Don't tell Ann E. Body what I'm up to. I could use a little down time.

I'll pay for it Monday mornin' no doubt but Them's the breaks.

Retired the rest of the cleco clips this afternoon. Time to bend up a few more pieces. Once the firewall is done I can start mounting the front end.

Other than a few minutes here & there this is the first I've worked on the "Z" since last July.

Gettin' closer. When I pulled the window seal off today I found some rust in the usual spots on the left & right lower corners. Got the passenger side patch panel welded in, still have the Drivers side to cut out & weld in. Then I'm gettin' pretty close to giving it a coat of "self educating" primer. :D

Thanks BP. Well it took about a year, but I finally have the firewall in primer. There's still body work to do, but I wanted to get it covered so it doesn't rust again. Hot & humid today, so I have the A/C running to dry it out, yea, that's it, I have it running for the primer. lol.
I'll be setting the front end on this afternoon. It's going to be a job, the front end needs a LOT of tweaking I'm afraid.

Using the A/C sounds like a great common sense solution! (A Gary Spear hallmark!) I sure do enjoy following your project and I can't wait for the final result! bp

Thanks BP. I use any excuse to run the A/C. :D Firewall cover set in place, roughly.
