we came home and tore the manifold off. guess what it was leaking! the manifold wasn't all the way down, as the bolts were holding it up off the heads just a tad. after slotting the holes we put some new gaskets on it and changed the oil. off to the track we went. (this was last weekend).
first pass was a 9.25. next was a 9.26. we decided that the carb was overly rich (we jetted it up 4 sizes before we found our intake leak), so we took the 92's out and put 88's back in it. she went out and ran a tire spinning 9.23. unfortanatlly, the rain moved in and our evening was cut short.
fast forward to this weekend. all we did was leave the car sit in the trailer. both of us (dad and i) were pretty disgusted with the car and are tired of banging our heads against the wall, so we didn't even look at it. first pass outta the trailer she went a 9.15! next pass it went a 9.16 and the pass after that it went a 9.17.
time for round 1. we put a 9.16 on the car. dad cut a .527(.500 tree) and the car went a 9.158. lost due to the .002 break out

long story short we knocked off our bracket again by beating a car from up north in the final (by up north i mean a Norwalk car). we dialed a 9.15 he dialed a 9.95. dad cut a .504 and the car went a 9.152. guy from norwalk cut a .513 and went a 9.96. he was no match for our .006 package!
now if we can sneak her into the 8's this season we will both be exstatic! NITRO sounds better all the time. j/k
