A pure talent...great, powerful singer with a gift for melody and interpretation...that certain quiver in his voice, the passionate inflection of the words, the total presentation of his art was unique and a joy to experience...he could outsing the pants off of any rock 'n roll singer...blow 'em off the stage...but he never complained when his style became passe' in the 50s. He just kept on being Frankie Laine and spoke kindly towards the new guys. I've never gone looking for a singer to play in my bands, but if I ever did, he'd have been my only choice. RIP, Frankie, you left us all with beautiful memories and melodies that will live forever. WC1
