More than just a great singer, he became the face of sophisticated Western culture and a name that was instantly associated with class and pure talent. Like David Niven before him, the visual image of the man was of pure elegance, taste and good manners. He was the finest of American gentlemen. Too bad we don't bestow knighthoods upon our best men. Sir Robert Goulet would have fit him. Rest in peace and God Bless. WC1
