Air Compressor Question

Postby Barb » Wed Apr 19, 2006 1:08 pm

I guess this is a Tech question. I have an air compressor .. don't know the brand name but, model # is EXFAC28S1-1. Is there anythingy that I need to do service wise to this thing? I know Domenic used it (3 years ago) but I haven't had the need .. until now. Don't need to ruin any of these high dollar items because I can't replace them.

  Nope, this is one thingy that I can say ain't tall .. it only comes up to my low knee!!!!

Under the model # is the following info:

125 PSI/LB PO2
1 PHASE
SCFM 3.7@/a 40 PSI, 2.6 @/a 90 PSI
PCNM 3.7 @ 40 LB/PO2, 2.6 @ 90 LB/PO2

It has no belts .. electrical plug and a hose hooked to it. There are 2 small boxes (enclosed) that I have no clue.

Sorry I can't be more helpful .. but I can be a diver on a fuel funny car

Barb, have ya run it lately, ya might check the oil in the compressor part. then if it has oil fire it up let it build up and drain the tank to get the moisture out of it. If the compressor needs it ya can change the oil in it. Has it got a little sight glass on the compressor? or a dipstick? It probably has a little air filter on the compressor to you could replace or clean, If your gonna work on it please make sure it is UNPLUGGED!
If you think it's exciting now, wait till we start it.

ok.. really only a couple things to do.... it should have a drain on the bottom of the tank to keep it free of condensed water vapor. if it will open see if any water runs out.. wont be much, just stick an old towel under it as it may be a little rust colered and stain the floor..you should see an air intake with a filter mesh or fibery material that may need cleaned... unless you see somewhere to check and add oil to the pump it is most likely an oiless deal... plug er in and go....

probably an oil less one Barb
plug it in and use it,if it's been kept in the garage.
( sometime unplug it ,look on the bottom for a petcock to open, drain moisture out,re tighten.
pretty bullet proof.
