Bruce Larson's USA-1 Dragfest Moves to November
By Joel Naprstek
I just got notice from Dave Heisey (co-originator of the event) to spread the word ...
Keep Saturday, November 10, 2001, open as you're invited to travel to Bruce Larson's Stony Creek Barn north of Harrisburg, PA, for the 2001 edition of the best damn drag history/nostalgia bench racing gathering in the country.
This gathering has been going on now for about four years and everyone who attends raves about it. As of now about all I have to offer is the date but stay tuned for final word on further details. This year the admission at the door may have to go up a bit to cover costs, but it's worth it.
For under $15 a head you get to see great things like Bruce Larson's collection of cars including his drag Cobra, '68 Camaro funny car, and a number of others. You get to see Bruce's racing and automobilia collections, jaw all day with kindred spirits (drag history gearheads!), and go through private scrapbooks and photo collections. You get to see slide and video shows, maybe buy some stuff and eat some food ... and maybe even get a free event hat pin!
Of course, you should bring your own scrapbook collections and photos for all to view as well. Plans are afoot this year to bring in a couple of genuine, restored altered wheelbase '65 Mopars for display, and not ones that have been widely seen before.
There may be an advance sale of tickets and a flyer sent out this year. If you're interested in getting on the list for the possible mailing, please return your snail mail address to me here at RACE CAR ART.
Sponsors are welcome.

Hope to see you all there.
