From the 1999 CHRR... Jim Boyd's first qualifying shot wrecked his
race car. A series of problems forced the nose of the car into the guardrail where it dug in and pitched the car sideways. Still carrying 200 mph worth of forward momentum, the car rolled and slid to a stop on its side. The tank-like, home built racecar held up well. Here is a shot pulled from the sequence. The nose and axle are folded and the car is sideways at speed and airborne. Jim walked away from this.
