Fuel Dragsters, 1962 Style
Photos by Steve Gibbs
Here's a variety of FEDs.

Blair's Speed Shop 1962. Photo by Steve Gibbs
First is an unblown fuel car, running out of Blair's Speed Shop. I think that Nick Van Wagner drove it. Van Wagner had a very well assembled blond lady friend who was doing a "Jungle Pam" act well before Pam did.

Gary Southern 1962. Photo by Steve Gibbs
Second photo is Gary Southern in his bitchin' little blown flathead. This is one of the first cars Gary ever drove.... and he went on to drive a bunch of them.

Jim Ward 1962. Photo by Steve Gibbs
Third pic is the late Jim Ward in his own car. Engine belonged to Glen Spainhower, and came close to having "zoomie" headers...which did not show up for a couple more years. Check out the "Speed Sport" patented design injector scoop. Starter in photo is Donnie Sanderson, while tech man on other side of car is Bonnis Herd. Looking in the background, who was the racer who had #612?
