I am sending out this shot of one of those transitional cars from about 1971 or so. This is Bob Hankins' Blue Blazer fuel altered modified with that short Corvette body to make it into a funny car. Hankins always had beautiful cars, like his Altered, and this was well below his normal standards. If I remember correctly, either he redid this body, or this was the redo, with the other version being more like the nice looking car that the Altered was. Can't say this was ever that strong a competitor, but there were quite a few show fillers running from the rebodied altered or modern bodied Gassers at that time. Very few were particularly strong, and most looked rather strange, including this one.
