This is the feared Voodoo Vega, in which I was a partner briefly after I relocated back to Long Island. This would have been 1975, at the Springnationals at Englishtown after the car had been converted into an alcohol car. This was one of those shots where the other car, Bruce Larson, had done a particularly hard burnout and Richie Sullivan, our driver, just sat there and waited for the smoke to blow across into our lane. I was getting pissed as I saw the car going into the smoke just short of my focus point so I had to shoot it here or not get anything.

This is one of those short focus shots where things are soft, but it still makes a really fun image, and my favorite that I ever took on the car. Not much to show for quite a bunch of work, but I do have a couple of junk parts from our little boomer that convinced us to move from nitro to alcohol. Of course, I will have to steal them from Josh when he moves out of the house since he has claimed them for his own.
