a new definition of pain in the arse has come to my attention......We got that
other trailer and I am in the process of swapping some of the stuff from my
trailer into the "new" one.... starting with my cabinets.
Now, keep in mind, I built those cabinets Purposely out of square, to accommodate the area that they were going in....not a big deal, except the new trailer is out of square in the opposite direction....grrrrr.....I have spent the better part of two complete days just trying to get the base cabinets done; and there is STILL the uppers that need to be renovated. I think I am going to use the upper "box" (because it seems to be a pretty good size, etc.)
but the doors are going to have to Go!.....The upper doors, all both of them, are done in such a way that they slide from side to side, with one in front of the other....in order to open the right side of the cabinet, you must slide that side of the door to the left, then, to access the left side, you have to slide both doors to the right. That set up may work fine in a 1960's vintage mobile home for the closet doors, but it is truly a pain in the backside for the inside of a car trailer. Those sliding doors are going to get modified into 4 individual doors, skinned with white aluminum and the edges trimmed with 3/4 inch aluminum angle, then have a hinge installed on the left and right sides (as needed)......ummm....not sure at this point in time what kind of latch mechanism to use on those uppers.....may use bungee cords tongue3
Meanwhile, Peggy sits there in Patch, patiently waiting for me to get through fiddle-fartin' around with this other box and take her out to stretch her legs.....All in good time, my dear!!
