Head leads Top Fuel qualifying at
IHRA Mopar Parts World Nationals

NORWALK, Ohio - Jim Head, Columbus, Ohio, led the first round of Top Fuel qualifying at the Mopar Parts World Nationals at Norwalk Raceway Park. Head recorded a pass of 4.722 seconds at 313.73 miles per hour. IHRA World Champion Paul Romine of Indianapolis was second. 

Other professional top qualifiers include Mike Janis, Lancaster, N.Y. in Pro Modified; Ray Price, Raleigh, N.C. in Nitro Harley-Davidson; Dan Roman, Wilcott, Conn., in Funny Car and Gene Wilson, Canton, Ga., in Pro Stock.

The second day of qualifying will begin Saturday at 12:30 PM.

NORWALK, Ohio -- Results Friday after qualifying for the 24th annual MOPAR Parts World Nationals presented by Ethanol Performs at Norwalk Raceway park, seventh of 11 events in the IHRA Summit Drag Racing Series. Qualifying will continue Saturday to establish pairings for Sunday's final eliminations.
