Millican Makes Quickest Pass In IHRA History;
Leads Qualifying In Top Fuel

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. - Clay Millican and the Werner Enterprises Top Fuel Dragster made one more step toward a championship at the CARQUEST Auto Parts Autumn Nationals in Rockingham, N.C. Millican posted the quickest pass in IHRA history, a 4.601/317.05 in round one of qualifying, to give him the number one qualified spot. Millican is on a quest to surpass "Big Daddy" Don Garlits for the most consecutive wins in a row, having tied Garlits' record of five in a row in Epping, N.H. two weeks ago.

Fred Hahn, Elma, N.Y.; Dale Brand, Sully, Iowa; Steve Stordeur, Goshen, Ohio; and Gene Wilson, Canton, Ga., earned the top qualifying spots in Pro Modified, Funny Car, Nitro Harley-Davidson, and Pro Stock.

Professional qualifying continues Saturday at noon, with the final qualifying session at 6:30 p.m.
