For the 11th year in a row, Doug Herbert opened the gates at his
Cherryville, NC Performance Parts Warehouse and Race Shop on Mother's day
weekend for a giant open house called RaceDay 2002.

Along with a giant car show, super parts sale and manufacturer's
midway, Robert D. Raiford from the nationally syndicated "John Boy
& Billy Big Show" radio program sat in the seat of Doug's Top
Fueler when he fired it up. Raiford became a "NitroManiac"
Saturday and used muscles in his face he never used as he smiled as he
never smiled before.

The Big Bang Oldsmobile exploded in flames after going wide open for a few minutes.

Another attraction was the "Big Bang" as we put a brick on
the gas pedal of a car and ran it wide open until it blew the f*** up.
This Oldsmobile Cutlass ran for about 4 minutes until it expired in a ball
of flames.
