Other number one qualifiers in the professional categories include Mike Janis, Lancaster, NY. in Pro Modified; Doug Vancil, Albuquerque, NM., in Screamin' Eagle Harley-Davidson ; and Jimmy Rector, Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., in Funny Car.

Dwayne Rice, Grove City, Ohio qualified number one in the quickest Sunoco Pro Stock field ever.

Qualifying continues Saturday at Noon with final eliminations Sunday. The Amalie Oil Nationals is the fourth stop on the twelve-race Hooters IHRA Racing Series.
