new track records during professional qualifying IHRA Amalie Oil Nationals
at Cordova Dragway Park. Vancil, Albuquerque, NM, and defending Screamin'
Eagle Nitro Harley-Davidson World Champion, made quickest motorcycle run
in IHRA history with a 6.278, 201.19.
Janis, of Lancaster, NY. recorded the quickest time in Pro Modified
with a 6.137, 230.06.
Millican recorded the quickest marks in the Top Fuel division with a
4.601, 326.63.
Other number one qualifiers in the professional categories include
Jimmy Rector, Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., in Funny Car and Dwayne Rice in Sunoco
Pro Stock.
Final eliminations begin at Noon. The Amalie Oil Nationals is the
fourth stop on the twelve-race Hooters IHRA Racing Series.
