This past week we saw the first Female vs. Female Pro Stock Bike
Final in NHRA Drag Racing History. It also marked the 2nd time a Female
Pair have been in the finals. Shirley Muldowney and Lucille Lee matched
up in Columbus, Ohio in 1982. Muldowney pulled away with the win and
went on to win 3 Top Fuel Titles and now Angelle Savoie is about to
clinch her 3rd Pro Stock Bike Title.
Karen Stoffer's Road to the finals was no easy task. She met up
against Thomas Miceli in Round 1 and she took him on a Holeshot. In
Round 2 she was side by side with Craig Treble and even though Craig had
the early lead she caught him by the 330 ft Marker. Stoffer was really
on a roll when she was in the semis against young Andrew Hines. This
would have proven to be a good race if Andrew hadn't redlighted. His ET
was 7.333 to Karen's 7.334. This race would have been won on the
starting line but Andrew threw it away jumping the gun.

Karen nails it off the line. She redlighted by an eyelash in the final.

In the final's she knew she had to get Angelle on the tree if she had
any chance at all. Angelle was the only rider breaking into the 7.1?'s.
Every other rider was in the 7.20's. Karen redlighted by .009 of a
second. Angelle coasted to victory lane with her slowest ET of the day a
7.210 at 184.75 MPH.
A very warm welcome goes out to Karen Stoffer. This is her 3rd
Professional Race and her 2nd this NHRA Season. For her to excel
this far so early in her career is a great accomplishment
nonetheless.
