Drag Racing Movie of the Week: Shane Elcoate's Thunder Road '41 Willys Explodes a Supercharger. Carl Witt was on hand at last year's Aussie Winternationals when the striking Thunder Road '41 Willys got into some trouble on a qualifying pass.

New Drag Racing Lists! We updated all our drag racing lists this weekend. Thanks to Danny White, Steve Klemetti, and hundreds of individual racers who sent in updates. All stats through NHRA Columbus and IHRA Cordova are included. Of course, stats from dozens of match races are included as well. If we didn't get your update into this latest collection, we'll get you soon! We are working on converting the Drag Lists to an online database which will allow DAILY updates. Hopefully, we can get that on line this year. In the meantime, check out the new Drag Lists at http://www.digitalwebzone.com/draglist/draglist.php.

Drag Racing Game updates on the way. With the new drag racing lists, our Match Race Madness game will be updated this week. Hang in there, retro gamers, an update is on the way!

June 28, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: 23rd MIR Mountain Motor Nationals to Tom Lee. Maryland International Raceway held its 23rd running of the world's largest independent mountain motor Pro Stock race last night. We were there as Tom Lee defeated an ALL 6.70 field.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Steve Woods' Pro Supercharged Austin. Robert Briggs caught Steve Woods' 6.70, 203 mph "modern day gasser" hitting the top end at the recent Pro Nitro show.

June 25, 2001 - New LinkBank Servers. Sorry that our links were down all day on 6/22. The LinkBank service had completed an upgrade to all new servers that are up to 48 times faster than the old ones. Unfortunately, they had to change the URLs for all the links pages. That meant our links page didn't work all. I changed all 1,348 pages at draglist.com and uploaded them on 6/23. I think I've got them all. If you find a link to Draglist Links that doesn't work, please let me know at bilden@draglist.com. [NOTE: LinkBank ceased operations in January, 2002. We now are using the LinksManager system. bp]

Congrats to WJ on  tying Bob Glidden's mark (we still wish Bob was out there racing). Doug Kalitta, Tony Pedregon, Jay Meyer, and Marc White win also.

June 23, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Friday's Qualifying at Sears Craftsman Nationals Puts Scelzi, Sarver, Allen, Savoie, and Patterson Out Front. NHRA.com provides day one qualifying results from St. Louis.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Beauties and the Beast -- Top Alcohol Dragster. Canadian Top Alcohol Dragster racer Bob Wilson qualified at the 2001 Konica Winternationals at Willowbank  Raceway in Australia. Chris the Kiwi and Carl Witt recorded the international occasion with some cool photos.

June 18, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Force, Dixon, Johnson Among Winners At Pontiac Excitement Nationals. NHRA.com reports that Force finally wins Columbus, Dixon outlasts Bernstein, and WJ climbs atop the points standings.

June 17, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: (1) - IHRA Cordova Wins to Millican, Janis, Verheijen, Thomas, and Lee. FastNews Network provides the final results from the Amalie Summer Nationals. Millican extends his points lead, Janis and Thomas keep on truckin', and Lee regains his form.

(2) - Bernstein, Skuza, Marnell Take Top Qualifying Honors at Pontiac Excitement Nationals. NHRA.com provides final qualifying results from Columbus. The heat in the heartland provided the tightest fields this year -- NOBODY's a lock for a win today in any category.

NHRA Joliet was the most amazing performance race in quite some time, as Steve's HUGE new list of personal bests attests. IHRA Grand Bend and the NHRA Divisionals contribute their share of big numbers, too.

June 16, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: (1) - Millican Leads Top Fuel Qualifying at IHRA Amalie Oil Summer Nationals. FastNews Network provides final pairings for Saturday's action at Cordova.

June 11, 2001 - Pop Up Wars - We fought and (I think) won another battle in the Pop Up Advertising wars. The folks from Colonize thought it would be a good idea to add a little pop up window to the standard 468 x 60 banner we run for them. We didn't. Neither did many of you. We have removed those pop up ads and those of one other advertiser.

Bruce Mullins is going the light weight, Roots blower route in NHRA Division 1 FMFC racing. Can he get his Mustang into the 5.70s in order to compete against Manzo, Newberry, and the like?

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Ray Scardelli's 9-Second Super Stock Ford. Dave Kommel of Auto Imagery took this photo last year of the only nine-second, 289 Ford-powered Super Stocker in the world. Despite the fact that the photo was ripped off from the Drag Race Central site and sent to us by another person, Dave kindly consented to let us use the photo anyway.

June 3, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: (1) - Millican, Pittman, Vancil, Thomas, and Wilson Lead IHRA Grand Bend Final Qualifying. Summitracing.com provides final pro qualifying results from Grand Bend, Ontario. 

(2) - Chicago: Bernstein, Force Set National ET Records While Edwards, Savoie And Perin Qualify First; Gracia Wins Holley Pro Stock Truck Dominator Duel. NHRA.com reports that the fuel ET records have finally fallen under the 90 percent rule. How about a 4.900 NOT getting into the fuel funny car show?
