York 2018: Cavalcade of Memories

17TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR FOR THE CAVALCADE OF MEMORIES

YORK SPRINGS, PA – The year 2018 will mark the 17th consecutive year for the presentation of the York Reunion for the former York US30 Dragway formerly operated at the York Airport in Thomasville. On July 20-21 the Cavalcade of Memories will present Jungle Jim Liberman Day on Friday, July 20 and the Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins/Larry Lombardo Day on July 21 at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in York Springs, Pennsylvania.

Although the drag strip ceased operation in 1979 an annual pilgrimage continues each year highlighting the exploits of race teams who have also folded their operations and joined the many in the halls of drag racing history. The York US30 Heritage Days event presents countless memories and legends each year from drag racing’s heritage.

Bunny Burkett on the distaff side of drag racing will be on hand to meet her many fans who cherished her performances and racing heritage thru the years. Her race team will perform on Sunday at Beaver Springs Dragway.

The event provides not only an annual reunion but a display of historic race cars and exciting start-ups during the course of each day’s activity.

An automotive flea market, a Saturday car show and cruise-in at the historic Latimore Valley Fairgrounds and the annual Legion of Honor awards ceremony at 5 p.m. on Friday. And it all benefits the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing.

On Sunday, July 22 the wheels turn at Beaver Springs Dragway for the presentation of the 15th Annual York Nostalgia Nationals. Activities begin at 8 a.m.
