TROY, Mich. – Dynotech Engineering Services has been selected as a driveshaft supplier for Shelby American Inc.
Dynotech provides its high-quality driveshafts for use on Shelby American’s 2012 Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake to give the vehicle overall performance, improved handling, and better control with no vibration.
“We are pleased to add Dynotech Engineering to our lineup of preferred parts partners,” said Gary Davis, vice president-production, Shelby American Inc. “Their one-piece driveshafts are high quality and a great addition to the options we offer on our 700- plus horsepower Shelby GT500 Super Snakes.”
Dynotech offers custom driveshafts in two construction designs: drawnover mandrel (DOM) steel or 6061 aluminum. The DOM steel model has a 3.5-inch diameter, 0.083-inch wall thickness and, at 13 lbs. lighter than stock, is perfect for street and some drag race applications. Dynotech’s 6061 standard aluminum driveshaft is available with a 3.5-inch diameter and 0.125-inch wall thickness, or heavy-duty with a 4.0-inch diameter and 0.125-inch wall thickness. Ideally suited for street, drag and road racing use, the aluminum model weighs 21 lbs. less than stock.
“By replacing the Super Snake’s traditional all-steel, two-section driveshaft with our one-piece design, we deliver a significantly lower weight product that – like all of our driveshafts – is hand assembled, computer welded and high-speed balanced to the highest standards in the industry,” said Steve Raymond, general manager, Dynotech Engineering Services.
