AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals just one of a dozen feature events slated for 2012
ENNIS, Texas (Nov. 17, 2012) –Texas Motorplex officials unveiled the 2012 event schedule today and it’s filled with feature events for all North Texas fans from March through November.
Texas Motorplex has been the site of many historic events in racing history and 2012 will not only feature the fan-favorite events like the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals, Super Chevy Show, the ADRL World Finals, Fun Ford Weekend, NHRDA Texas Diesel Nationals as well as the NHRDA World Finals and dozens of other events, but will also welcome new events including the 2012 National Biker Roundup presented by the DFW Roundup Committee, July 31-Aug. 5, 2012.
“This is an exciting schedule because we have added a few new events and our fans will reap the reward for having top-notching racing and entertainment,” Texas Motorplex and Meyer Motorsports owner, Billy Meyer, said. “We have everything from the best drag racing in Texas to the nation’s best car show events and we are starting to do more concerts and other events that the entire family can enjoy.”
In addition to the feature events for racers and fans alike, there will be a massive increase in street racing events. There will be 20 Fast Friday events that allow racers of all experience and ability to come out to the famous Texas Motorplex concrete quarter-mile surface and race like legends John Force, Kenny Bernstein and others have done since 1986.
The bracket series will feature some big changes in 2012, something Gabrielle Stevenson, president of Meyer Motorsports, said will be announced in early 2012.
“We are fortunate to have some of the best racers in the country in the DFW area and we want to make sure we put on a great bracket racing series that challenges the racers and is a show for the fans,” Stevenson said. “We are going to fine-tune some details and make that announcement in early 2012. It’s going to be a great season of racing and entertainment at Texas Motorplex.”

Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion’s Club – an 11,000 square-foot facility – that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
