Last Saturday Gene Winfield hosted his annual charity open house at his shops in Mojave. The shops are fascinating and the back acres where the old and ex-projects are kept are equally fascinating. Many projects that are either abandoned or awaiting to be started again are all over. It’s like walking through an archaeological site.
Gene is 86 and one of the few people I’ve ever known who has the respect of everyone I know. I’ve never heard one negative word about Gene. Gene is still blazing away on the El Mirage dry lakes at over 150 MPH, too.
