2013 Season Officially ends with 36th Annual Awards Dinner
A marvelous time was had by all in attendance at the 36th Annual Woodburn Dragstrip Awards Dinner at the Holiday Inn in Wilsonville. Specialty awards and championship trophies were handed out, and lots of laughs and tears were experienced by all. Dave Sattem was the recipient of the Woodburn Dragstrip Driver of the year, while Austin Varner claimed the award in the Junior Dragster category. With these great awards and great times, comes the needed recognition for all wonderful sponsors, employees, racers, and spectators at Woodburn Dragstrip. As the ones that ‘help the world go ‘round’, we thank them with the highest of honors for participating in the 2013 racing season, and hope to see you all in 2014 as well.
A special recognition was given to Elvon Kauffman, who was awarded with the Woodburn Dragstrip Lifetime Achievement Award. With great racing times comes great racing people, and the former World Champion knows a thing or two about great things! Elvon was awarded with this honor for his work as a racer, as an RFC chaplain, and as a friend to all.
