Nostalgia AA/FD racer Tom Hunt of Franklin, Ohio, has updated and repainted his ex-Gene Snow, ex-Bill Brown Vega nostalgia funny car. Now called the Flying Purple People Eater, the machine should debut at the National Hot Rod Reunion in a couple of weeks. Donnie Moore, also of Franklin, Ohio, will be the driver.
Hunt and Moore called Draglist contributor Rick Howard down to Tri-State Dragway (near Cincinnati) a couple of weeks ago to film them testing and tuning the new piece. The team tested without the body, which was being painted at that time. A brake line broke after the burnout, and forced an early end to the day.
The team now has everything back together, painted, and ready to eat up some fellow nostalgia funny car racers in Bowling Green!
