For those planning on attending the York Reunion, expect an impressive Junior Stock turn-out. There will be a Junior Stock meeting held Saturday, 10 a.m. on-site and is open to anyone with an interest in these early old Stockers.
For those who will be bringing a car, be it GM, Mopar, Ford or Rambler, try to make it Thursday as you can read below, there will be a magazine photo shoot.
Come Sunday at Beaver Springs, Beaver Bob has given these Stockers a class of their own this year. Just like the old days, you can participate or watch these early Stockers once again, tear up the track.
Here we are closing in on York MCM and the Big Go at Beaver. Looks like it’s going to be a busy weekend and right out of the gate. Geoff Stunkard will be doing camera magic at our photo shoot on Thursday morning, into the hall with the cars and then a break. I know there’s a ton of long haulers and since my wife never misses the Yoo Hoo Too site it looks like Wayne’s car will be among our Stocker contingent.
I’m thinking that the drivers meeting will be jammed this year and I have secured body armor and safety head gear for the 15 Year Rule Discussion that Darwin will be a part of. Although that pretty much killed off the Junior Stockers, it will be interesting to hear the back story about that wretched ruling. That’s Saturday AM at 10 in the same hall as last year. I am going there this weekend to cut the wire in the ceiling 2 weeks early so it doesn’t look suspicious when we arrive!
Sunday puts us at Beaver Springs to run the cars. The designation will be JR/D1 as we have our own class for the day as we do battle like the good old days. It’s early yet but just wondering if you guys are planning to attend the Beaver Bash. The Gunning car is running faster than the good old days, the Hustlin Hoosier is getting a “tune up” right now and the long haulers will be bringing secret weapons in tri five form. So it looks like the only thing to worry about now is the weather. Then again, I’ve been worried about that since December so not a big deal.
Let me know if you possibly may be at Beaver. And if you don’t mind, please push this note to everybody you can think of so the hall, drivers meeting, and the track is jammed with people.
Hoping to see you all there.
