YORK 2015: THE VEHICLES ARE THE STARS

YORK, PA – The 14th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion will feature a stellar lineup of Legends of Drag Racing and Legendary Race Cars that will be on display for the final time at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 10-11th.

The annual Reunion will conclude with the presentation of the largest array of legendary race cars to be assembled at one event at one time. The York event has been noted as the event featuring the largest array of legendary race cars along with legends of drag racing for many years.

This year’s event will include the Golden Commandos ’65 Barracuda, the Ford F-150 race truck, the D.A. Santucci Top Gas dragster, Jim & Alison Lee “Great Expectations” Top Fuel Dragster, World Champion Jim Walther’s Top Fuel Dragster, Stan Shoppel’s Twin Engine Dragster, the Yoo Hoo Too ’56 Chevy of Wayne and Dan Jesel, the “Hellzapoppin” Dragmaster dragster of Bobby Schlegel, Arlen Fadely’s Super Stock Magazine Maverick, the Jungle Jim Tribute Funny Car, the Jungle Jim Pro Stock Vega, the “Grumpy’s Toy XII” Monza, the ’55 T-Bird “Salty’s Shaker”, ’67 Camaro “Old Reliable”, the ’65 Altered Wheelbase Dodge of Dave Strickler, the ’68 Hemi of Sox & Martin, the ’69 Yenko Camaro of Ed Hedrick, ’63 Z-11 “Old Reliable” of Dave Strickler, ’62 Chrysler of Bud Faubel “Big Red”, Phil Bonner’s “Daddy Warbucks” of Dick Estevez, Charlie Garrett’s ’33 Willys coupe, Bruce Larson’s USA-1 Camaro and Ted Brine’s ’34 Ford Fuel coupe to name a few.

A feature of both days is the start-up of fuel cars to the delight of those in attendance, as well as, a Make and Take Model Building for the small fry both days. Models are provided free by the Central Pennsylvania Modelers and those 12 and under can build their model and take it home from the show. Hours are posted in the lobby.

Special shuttles are provided to the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing both days and a Special visit to the former York US 30 Dragway both days. Hours are Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 12 noon to 4 p.m. All visitors must have a Musclecar Madness ticket stub and supply their own transportation. A special race car display and drag strip memorabilia display is featured.

The York event supports the York County SPCA and the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. Show hours are Friday 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the final curtain Saturday, 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Cruise-in hours for Saturday are 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. with awards presented by “Miss Hurst Golden Shifter” Linda Vaughn.

Drag racing activities for Sunday move to Beaver Springs Dragway for the presentation of the York Nostalgia Nationals beginning at 8 a.m.
